I loved this, especially the notebook part, it is so present and real. I also love the idea that you are questioning the parts of you that travel with you and the bits you leave behind. Thank you for sharing. Xx

Thanks Bel xx it’s funny isn’t it, the raw thoughts that come out in our journals turn out to be the bits that resonate. Something there about not overthinking 🤔

Ooft, your journalling is exquisite! Read this gorgeous piece this morning and then felt compelled to revisit my own travels. Thank you for inspiring me.🧡

Gosh thank you Christina! After publishing it, I wondered if I was having a moan but it felt real somehow. With the benefit of time, all I remember are the good parts, all embodied experiences swept away, such is the way of things. Xx

This is such a lovely piece. It evokes a feeling of disconnection I can have when I sometimes get what I've been longing for - sunshine and time are all very well - but if we don't feel rooted, or grounded - we can't be with the time or the sunshine. I get that the birds were a connection with something for you in a strange and different land, where you were at home and not at home. So raw and emotional - beautiful - thank you. I'm writing this whilst the rain has turned to hail - It was bitter-sweet to be reminded that the clear sky is there behind those clouds.

Oh thank you Juliana, such a thoughtful response to my words. I just dodged that hail! I was thinking of you this morning, we must walk soon 😘

Thanks Arnie. It’s worth visiting, it’s a real spectacle but the entropy all around us was quite something to navigate.

Loved reading this Lynne. I really resonated with the disorientation from my early days travelling last autumn. How that never really has a chance to abate on a short trip, I guess. And I adored that middle italicised passage from your notebook!! Xx

Thanks Ruth. Even on a shorter trip like this one, the feeling had subsided by the second day. On a longer trip you have far more time to really get into your stride, it would be great to do one of those again soon. 😊

I hope we both get to again soon. I’m in the Lakes this week working from the van. Picked a cold and rainy week though had nice weather for the weekend part of the workation. Interested to try out working from here when I had previously not got on with it on my travels.

It’ll be interesting to see how effective it is being away and working. Keep us posted! And enjoy any snippet of sunshine that breaks through into those fells. Xx
